Berja is a busy bustling town about 2 hours from Malaga along the Mediterranean sea in Andalucía. Berja is about as typically Spanish as you can get. Historically Berja has been a farming and mining town with prosperous industry. Its prosperity has led rise to many amenities that make it a comfortable place to live and work. We have a large Mercadona grocery store where you can buy anything you need. Berja also has a multitude of shops, restaurants, and even an outdoor farmers market daily. We even have a bull ring where we can take you to see a bullfight if you like. Our main plaza just a 30 second walk across the street from Casa Berja and has many outdoor cafe's where you can people watch as you sip a glass of sangria. The town bus leaves from our front door and takes you to the beach and also into Almeria Capital.
Steeped in ancient history visages of Berja's roman and Moorish history abound. There is a walking route around the city where you can find shards of roman pottery and an ancient Moorish castle in ruins.
Berja has it all .. sun, beach, swimming, castles, roman architecture, farmers markets, outdoor cafes, bull fighting, soccer games, and best of all ... Casa Berja!! We are waiting for you - join us this summer.
